International Academy of Medical Specialists, Inc.
Founded with a humanitarian purpose.
IAMS was founded in 2006 by physicians in the Philippines who believed that medical knowledge should serve both professional excellence and the well-being of communities.
From its earliest days, the organization has sought to bring together medical specialists, public health advocates, and professional leaders committed to continuing education, international collaboration, and the strengthening of healthcare systems.
Medical Missions
In addition to promoting medical education and international collaboration among specialists, IAMS regularly organizes and participates in free humanitarian medical missions aimed at communities with limited access to healthcare services.
For many years, volunteer physicians within the organization have conducted medical outreach programs, public health campaigns, and community service initiatives, primarily in the Philippines and other parts of Asia, bringing healthcare directly to underserved populations. These missions have included general medical consultations, dental care programs, health education activities, relief operations, surgical assistance initiatives, and other humanitarian projects designed to improve access to healthcare where it is needed most.
World Congresses
The IAMS World Congress serves two central purposes. The first is to advance the organization's commitment to continuing medical education by creating a forum where physicians and specialists can exchange knowledge, clinical experience, and professional perspectives.
The second is to foster international collaboration by providing opportunities for medical specialists from different countries to build professional relationships that extend beyond the congress itself. Through these connections, participants can share best practices, strengthen professional networks, and promote greater cooperation across healthcare systems.
Funding Humanitarian Medical Missions
IAMS congresses are not only platforms for learning, professional exchange, and international collaboration. They also help generate resources that allow the organization to continue developing humanitarian programs and medical missions. By participating in the IAMS World Congress, attendees contribute to efforts that support healthcare outreach, medical education, and community service initiatives
